UNDERGRADUATE THESIS

IT MUST BE JUST FINE

It Must Be Just Fine is my undergraduate design thesis project at Montserrat College of Art. The work focuses on the treatment and objectification of women, through collages, books, and drawings. The work is very physical, tactile, and aggressive.

THESIS STATEMENT

Women are often depicted and treated like decorations, objects, or as a form to project male ideas and interests onto. This work explores the objectification, idealization, perception, and treatment of women. By reflecting on my observations and experiences, I am creating pieces representing the frustrating reality of existing as a woman.

Film poster designs incorporating physical media into each piece.

Cropped, uniform compositions made from the original collages

The first book created for my thesis project, which is hand-cut, assembled, and bound.

Books made from collages that feature words on each cover to chage the perception of the work

Exhibition of my thesis project, which was part of a group show for senior design students

This postcard was designed for the graphic design group thesis show

Using the prints featured in my exhibition, I created these accordion books by ripping them apart and collaging them together

The second book made for my thesis project containing all the work from the project
